1 of 1 Signed & Framed - Yorkshire Snap - Luke Horton
Yorkshire pudding, Wensleydale cheese and Liquorice All- sorts are some of the Yorkshire delights enjoyed around the country. Our lovely curd tart has stayed more local as has our much loved Hendo's which is consumed in abundance by us that know best! I remember enjoying sticks of rhubarb as a kid; we were lucky because the first rhubarb of the year, a sweeter, more tender stalk was produced in sheds dotted around the "Rhubarb Triangle" in Yorkshire. Another memory is the smell of mum's parkin coming from the kitchen. It's still a firm favourite when I'm preparing snap for my lunch box! I don't have a metal snap tin as the traditional miners did to keep their bread and jam or bread and dripping lunches from the mice and rats, and my modern container doesn't make a 'snap' sound on opening which is where the name originated. All the same there's something about removing the lid to reveal the delights of a bit of traditional snap to enjoy with a cup of Yorkshire tea.
